About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director to serve as its chief executive and strategic leader. The successful candidate will be a values-driven individual with a deep passion for the organization's mission, which is focused on strengthening the community through educational, cultural, and recreational programming. The Executive Director will be responsible for advancing the mission, ensuring financial and operational sustainability, and overseeing the stewardship of the organization's historic assets. This role demands a leader with a minimum of 10 years' senior nonprofit leadership experience, including a strong background in complex governance, financial management, and property oversight, particularly in the context of capital planning for aging or historic facilities.

Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include providing leadership across governance, finance, facilities management, programs, and fundraising. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a program-revenue-driven operating model, with a focus on earned income, enrollment-based budgeting, cost controls, and long-term financial planning. The role also requires a leader who can effectively partner with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance, transparency, and effective decision-making in support of the organization's long-term sustainability. The Executive Director will play a central role in the organization's complex governance structure and must be adept at inspiring others to contribute to the mission.
