Job Summary To assist in media relations and external communications activities targeted to providing media with information necessary to promote the Reds, their opponents and Major League Baseball games.
Minimum Requirements Education
Bachelor's degree or pursuit of degree preferred in sports management, public relations, journalism, or a similar major.
Experience
Preference given to, but not required of, candidates with a background in professional baseball, college, or university sports information or media.
Skills
Strong ability to write and communicate effectively. Strong editing skills. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must have the proven ability to work cooperatively with opposing teams, their broadcaster,s and all other media.
Other
Available to cover all home games throughout the year, hours include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to perform stats research.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Capture, Edit, Distribute, Display, and Organization - 70%
Generate and distribute daily news clips. Copy and distribute gamenotes, stat packs, and news clips.
Accuracy, Reliability, and Efficiency - 20%
Write and edit post-game notes. Perform stats research through TruMedia and Baseball Reference.
Coordinating, Planning, and Communication - 10%
Assist the full-time media relations staff in all aspects. Act as a liaison between the department and media.

Performance-based. Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds (supplies, machinery, etc.). Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb stairs regularly in the course of daily duties Comfortable working in varying conditions (heat, humidity, cold, outdoors, confined spaces like office/cubicles and locker rooms). Work is primarily performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Ability to handle repetitive tasks at a computer. Ability to work long shifts with long and variable hours, including weekends and holidays. Expectations
