We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, allowing them to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. You will be responsible for organizing material and completing writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Responsibilities
Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Research products by interacting with subject matter experts, studying product specifications, and using prototype hardware and engineering drawings.
Collaborate with technical experts to establish technical specifications and determine end-item development.
Integrate relevant information into well-written physical descriptions, controls and indicators, and removal and replacement procedures with amplifying graphics.
Select drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts, and photographs of equipment to illustrate material.
Utilize essential authoring tools, including PTC's Arbortext and Creo (Windchill), Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Write for re-use using XML authoring system in an S1000D environment.
Edit, standardize, and make changes to material prepared by other writers.
Maintain the library of information as products evolve.
Create new procedures, outline structures, and manual updates.
Maintain configuration control of all documents.
Work with multiple SharePoint sites.
Self-develop and maintain skills required to perform the above activities.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in XML, content development, and technical writing.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to use Arbortext and Illustrator is required.
B.S. / B.A. degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, or a related academic field.
1+ years of experience in technical writing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of related experience with XML, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
2+ years of technical writing experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manual and related fields.
XML/S1000D authoring tool experience in a government-related field.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting, where you will work cross-functionally with other areas using PDA. The job offers a hybrid work setup.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
