Position Description
Senior Construction Estimator
This role is crucial as it involves developing strategies for pursuing and procuring competitively bid projects. The Senior Construction Estimator will play a pivotal role in evaluating bid specifications and drawings to ensure that all aspects of a job are known, successfully bidding, and winning the project. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with the Estimators and Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets during construction and upon completion of projects to review for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Attend bid meetings and develop and execute bid strategy Prepare thorough and timely cost analysis Analyze project proposals to prepare budget and cost estimate Gather, update, and review historical cost data Skill in reading and interpreting plans and specifications. Building detailed take-offs and schedules Knowledge of site excavation and utility construction, materials and methods. Strong troubleshooting skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office and bidding software such as HCSS Heavy Bid. Possess and maintain an acceptable driving record according to company standards.
Position Requirements
n terms of qualifications, we are looking for someone with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management or a related field of study. Experience in estimating projects or relevant engineering experience is a must. The candidate should be highly organized and familiar with Private Land Development, Site Development, and Heavy/Highway Construction.
