
Executive Director (Austin)

We are partnering with a well-established law firm in Austin to identify an experienced Executive Director to oversee firm operations, human resources, and administrative leadership.
This role will serve as a strategic partner to firm leadership and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the organization while supporting long-term operational and staffing initiatives.
IMPORTANT: Law firm management or legal operations experience is required for this role. Candidates without law-firm experience will not be considered.
Responsibilities Oversee firm operations, administrative functions, and office management Lead HR functions including payroll oversight, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations Manage and support administrative staff, paralegals, and legal support teams Partner with firm leadership on staffing decisions and operational planning Coordinate with external vendors including IT providers, benefits brokers, and payroll services Monitor administrative budget considerations related to staffing and operations Support initiatives that improve efficiency, culture, and organizational performance
Requirements 10+ years of experience in law firm administration, legal operations, or professional services management Strong experience in HR leadership, payroll oversight, and benefits administration Experience supporting attorneys and legal staff Demonstrated leadership and operational management experience Bachelor’s degree required
