
Engineering Sales Support (Portland)

Worksource Oregon is partnering with a Portland, OR employer who has specialized in car wash control systems for over 100 years maximizing the efficiency and lowering the operating cost of car wash businesses.
JOB DUTIES - Review and interpret customer-provided motor lists for equipment, including details on site construction, electrical specifications, Full Load Amps (FLA), Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR), and the side of electrical feed entry into the control panel. - Enter data into our proprietary quoting tool to design motor control panels that efficiently run all specified equipment, while determining the appropriate enclosure size and ensuring compliance with site specifications. - Generate accurate quotes for custom-built control panels, factoring in all technical and regulatory requirements. - Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to refine designs, resolve discrepancies, and optimize solutions. - Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements, provide updates, and build strong relationships. - Maintain document control, including organizing files in Google Drive and utilizing Microsoft applications (with a focus on Excel for data management and analysis). - Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and support sales goals.
REQUIREMENTS - Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in industrial motor controls, electrical maintenance, panel building, or related field OR applicable military training in Electrical/Mechanical maintenance OR a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering/Technology preferred. - Strong time management and prioritization skills. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with customers and internal teams. - Proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. - Handle detailed technical information with high accuracy
PREFERENCES - College degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. - Technical aptitude or passion for electrical systems, motor controls, or engineering principles. - Experience working with UL508A standards for industrial control panels. - Prior experience in sales support, quoting, or custom manufacturing environments. - Become a product-line expert on our motor control panels, PLC integrations, VFD applications, and related industrial controls. - Occasionally assist with panel checkout, testing coordination, or start-up support as needed.
HOURS - Full time, 40 hours per week.
