Summary: The Assistant Director of Job Placement and Retention oversees a team of account managers, career coaches and retention staff to assure that the staff develop a diversified job bank for PACE clients and maintain positive long-term relationships with business and industry representatives; along with providing direct job placement and retention services. This AD helps to support and strengthen relationships with business and industry to address workforce needs and assist with talent supply and demand. The AD provides leadership and supervision to the placement and retention staff to ensure that the program meets its goals as established by the funder.

Job Functions: Provide leadership and oversight of all job placement, job development, and retention services to ensure achievement of HRA contractual verified placement and retention outcomes. Ensure that all placement and retention documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in compliance with HRA requirements for Day 1 placement and 30-, 90-, 180-, and 365-day retention milestones. Meet with local industry representatives to determine workforce vacancies and/or talent needs. Develop and maintain relationships with employers, industry partners, and workforce stakeholders to identify workforce vacancies and talent needs that support job placement and retention outcomes. Provide opportunities for business and industry to assist with the development of training programs to include apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing and work-based learning. Help staff to build and maintain productive relationships with public-sector, private-sector and non-profit employers to create career pathways for future talent. Build and maintain strong partnerships with economic development entities, chamber organizations and other workforce development agencies to ensure alignment and execution of collaborative workforce strategies to include Talent Pipeline Management. Provide oversight and management of industry sector partnerships “clusters” and any workforce solutions and/or outputs that result from “Cluster” input. Serve as support for the Site Director and participates in all convenings, meetings and conferences. Gathers labor market information, talent demand and skills requirements and translating data into meaningful information to create workforce development strategies. Develop and manage a database of employers and/or industry representatives and maintain regular communication. Provide ongoing coaching, training, and quality assurance to placement and retention staff to ensure adherence to program standards, employer engagement protocols, and documentation requirements. Other duties as assigned by the Site Director in response to a rapidly changing environment.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred. Must have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in workforce development managing a team responsible for job placement and retention. Experience working with TANF, SN and other vulnerable populations with barriers to employment. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Zoho, or other Databases that capture case management and job development information. Established leadership skills including the ability to manage staff, external stakeholder groups; ability to work collaboratively with all teams within the PACE program. Excellent oral and written communication skills: keen appreciation for follow up, follow through, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and without supervision. Experience working in and with industry; good working knowledge of the region’s high demand industries especially as it relates to the workforce needs of employers. Knowledge of economic and workforce development practices, systems, and program design; knowledge of training systems.

Position is full time onsite in Brooklyn.

Salary $90,000 annually.
