ABOUT THE ROLE IAPD is seeking a versatile, high-energy marketing professional who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and executing marketing initiatives while also contributing to strategy development. The Marketing and Programs Manager will support a wide range of efforts including campaigns, member engagement initiatives, digital communications, events and creative projects — including supporting IAPD’s

magazine and publications as part of a broader marketing strategy.
This is a marketing-first role, not an editorial-only position. We are looking for a modern marketing generalist who is comfortable jumping into projects, working closely with design and membership teams and using AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and impact across the organization. The role is an individual-contributor position with strong visibility and collaboration across internal teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Programs and Campaign Execution Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns that promote IAPD programs, events and member initiatives across digital channels Develop and refine marketing messaging across digital and print channels, including contributions to IAPD publications and

magazine content as part of broader marketing initiatives Create and deploy marketing assets including emails, web updates, social content and promotional materials Collaborate with internal teams to bring marketing ideas from concept through execution, ensuring projects move forward efficiently Use modern marketing tools, including AI-enabled workflows, to streamline content development, research and campaign execution Monitor marketing performance metrics and adjust messaging or tactics to improve engagement
Member Engagement and Association Programming Support marketing efforts tied to member engagement initiatives, leadership programs and association events Assist in preparing materials and messaging that support committees, volunteer leaders and cross-functional projects Serve as staff lead for association volunteer committees, facilitating meetings, coordinating initiatives and ensuring follow-through on action items Provide marketing support to committees, advisory groups and working teams, including preparing messaging or materials when needed Collaborate with members and industry partners to develop marketing stories, interviews and industry-focused features Support the development of thought leadership and member-focused storytelling across marketing platforms, including publication features and promotional content Contribute ideas that enhance member experience and strengthen participation across IAPD programs Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure marketing efforts align with organizational priorities
Creative Collaboration and Design Support Partner with the Senior Design and Multimedia Manager to develop creative assets that align with IAPD’s brand and strategic goals Provide hands-on support with
creative development,
including drafting copy, assisting with layout preparation and coordinating project timelines Maintain consistency across marketing materials while remaining adaptable to evolving project needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Project Ownership Work closely with Membership & Sales to support marketing initiatives tied to
advertising, sponsorships
and
member communications Manage multiple projects simultaneously , balancing input from various stakeholders while maintaining momentum Contribute to a
collaborative team environment
by bringing ideas forward and helping execute solutions
QUALIFICATIONS 4+ years of experience in marketing, communications or a related field, with a focus on executing campaigns and supporting cross-functional initiatives Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and move work forward in a fast-paced environment Strong writing and editorial judgment, including familiarity with AP Style, with the ability to create polished, consistent marketing messaging across digital platforms, print materials and association publications Experience collaborating closely with creative teams, including designers and multimedia partners Comfort working across departments and gathering input from a variety of stakeholders Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms, including email marketing systems, content management systems and social media channels Experience using AI tools or automation to support marketing workflows, content development or research is strongly preferred Basic understanding of design principles or experience supporting creative production is a plus Portfolio demonstrating marketing writing, messaging or campaign work is encouraged Experience in membership organizations, associations, events or community-focused environments is helpful but not required

(InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat; familiarity with Premiere Pro and other tools a plus) Email marketing platforms such as
Higher Logic, Constant Contact
or similar systems AI tools such as
ChatGPT
and other AI-enabled platforms used to support content development, research and workflow efficiency Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Content management systems ( CMS ) and website publishing platforms Customer relationship management ( CRM ) systems Experience managing content within vendor or publication production portals, including uploading files, reviewing proofs and coordinating revisions through external partners Familiarity with digital analytics tools, such as
Google Analytics , and reporting dashboards
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time in-office exempt position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 37.5 hours per week. The office is located in Overland Park, Kansas. Travel outside the office is expected for approximately 9–10 days per year.
