Overview: A fast-growing real estate development firm in the Houston area is seeking a

Director of Construction Management

to lead land development projects from planning through completion. This senior role oversees all horizontal construction operations, manages multiple teams and contractors, and ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all construction activities for residential, commercial, and mixed-use land development projects Manage and mentor construction managers, superintendents, and field teams across multiple sites Develop and implement construction strategies, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely project delivery Collaborate with civil engineers, utility providers, municipalities, and contractors on design, permitting, and sequencing Review engineering and construction plans for feasibility, constructability, and efficiency Monitor site safety, quality control, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Proactively resolve challenges related to utilities, permitting, or site conditions Oversee final inspections, punch lists, and project closeout procedures Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, and change orders Partner with development, engineering, and purchasing teams to drive project objectives and business goals

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 8+ years of experience managing land development construction, with progressive leadership responsibilities Strong knowledge of civil sitework, underground utilities, and municipal inspection processes Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and multidisciplinary teams simultaneously Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Preferred: Experience leading teams in residential or commercial land development Familiarity with Houston-area municipal codes, utility districts, and permitting processes Proficiency with construction project management software and reporting tools Benefits: Competitive salary Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for career advancement within a growing company
