We are seeking a highly experienced
Principal Plumbing Designer
to support a major nuclear engineering program in Greenville, SC. This is a long-term contract opportunity designed for a senior-level designer who thrives in technically demanding environments and can operate with minimal supervision.
If you have deep experience in plumbing/mechanical design, advanced 3D modeling expertise, and enjoy leading complex design efforts, this is an opportunity to step into a true principal-level role.
What You’ll Be Doing Develop and produce advanced plumbing design drawings and 3D models Utilize CAD and 3D modeling tools (S3D preferred) to support complex engineering projects Interpret engineering direction and translate it into detailed design deliverables Perform field walkdowns and incorporate real-world conditions into design updates Create new drawings and revise existing designs Direct, review, and approve work completed by other designers Support estimates, schedules, quantity tracking, and scope development Contribute to project progress reporting and staffing coordination
What We’re Looking For 15+ years of drafting/design experience in engineering and construction Strong plumbing/mechanical design background Advanced 3D modeling experience (Smart 3D highly preferred) Experience in regulated environments (nuclear experience strongly preferred) Working knowledge of Federal (including DOE), State, and Local codes and standards Ability to work independently with minimal engineering oversight
