Job Summary
The Commercial Construction Estimator drives bid accuracy and competitiveness by producing disciplined takeoffs, scopes, and pricing aligned to margin and risk targets. The role partners with Business Development, Pre-Construction, and Operations to build winning proposals and ensure clean handoffs to execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Produce complete estimates: takeoffs, labor/material pricing, subcontractor scopes, and bid leveling.
Lead pre-bid planning: constructability review, risk identification, and clarifications.
Coordinate subcontractor coverage and validate scope completeness.
Support proposal narratives and value-engineering options.
Maintain estimating databases and lessons learned to improve accuracy over time.
Required Qualifications
3+ years commercial estimating experience (GC preferred). Strong takeoff and scope discipline; comfort with deadlines and multiple concurrent bids. Ability to communicate assumptions and risks clearly. Preferred Qualifications
Federal contracting estimating exposure and proposal compliance familiarity. Proficiency with takeoff/estimating platforms used by the team. Work Environment / Schedule In-office with bid-driven hours; extended weeks possible during heavy pursuit periods. What B2 Constructors Offers
