Rivers Agency is seeking a
Senior Account Manager (Client Lead)
to serve as a primary client-facing partner while overseeing complex, multi-disciplinary agency work. This role is ideal for someone with strong full-service agency experience who thrives in managing clients, guiding internal teams, and driving projects forward with clarity and confidence.
This is not a passive or internal-only project management role. You will be deeply embedded in client relationships and paired closely with senior leadership to learn and apply the Rivers approach from day one. The ideal candidate will have experience working with financial services, banking, or credit union clients, or other regulated industries.
What You’ll Do Client Leadership & Representation Serve as the day-to-day client lead and trusted partner for assigned accounts Confidently represent Rivers’ point of view and help clients prioritize work that drives impact Translate client goals into clear scopes, timelines, deliverables, and KPIs Manage expectations, push back thoughtfully, and guide decision-making when tradeoffs are required
Project & Workflow Management Own project timelines, scopes, and workflows across strategy, creative, media, and development Use Asana to manage tasks, prioritize work, and keep teams aligned Anticipate bottlenecks, flag risks early, and proactively adjust plans to maintain momentum Balance multiple initiatives without losing attention to detail
Internal Team Leadership & Coordination Partner closely with strategists, creatives, media, and developers to ensure teams have what they need to deliver strong work Help prioritize requests so internal teams can focus on the most impactful work Keep communication clear, timely, and actionable Mentor and guide junior PMs through collaboration, example, and best-practice modeling
Performance & Accountability Ensure deliverables align with client goals, strategy, and agreed-upon KPIs Track progress against timelines and objectives and communicate clearly when adjustments are needed Support reporting needs and help connect work delivered to outcomes achieved Maintain a strong pulse on budgets, scope, and overall account health
Required Experience 3–6 years of experience within a full-service agency environment Direct client-facing experience managing accounts and presenting work Experience coordinating internal creative, strategy, and digital/web teams Strong understanding of project workflows, timelines, and budgets Comfort managing complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities
Nice to Have Given current client needs, experience with financial services, banking, or credit union clients is a strong plus. Experience supporting multi-channel campaigns across a mix of digital, web, content, paid media, and brand initiatives. Informal leadership or mentoring experience
What Success Looks Like In the first six months, you will be paired closely with Rivers Strategy Lead to learn the agency’s unique way of working, embedded on a large, complex retainer client, and supported through regular feedback and collaboration as you grow into a senior client leadership role.
