Job Overview / Role Description
A & A Plating Inc. is seeking an experienced
Quality Director
to lead and oversee all quality operations for our aerospace metal finishing and plating processes. This role is responsible for the
strategic management and effectiveness
of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with
AS9100 ,
NADCAP , customer, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Director serves as the
primary quality authority , overseeing special process compliance, audit readiness, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position leads the quality organization, develops staff, and drives a culture of
accountability, risk-based thinking, and operational excellence . Key Duties & Responsibilities Provide
strategic leadership
and ownership of the AS9100 QMS. Maintain
NADCAP Chemical Processing compliance , including audit preparation, execution, and corrective action closure. Serve as the
primary liaison
for customers, auditors, and registrars regarding quality matters. Approve and oversee
process control and special process compliance
in aerospace plating operations. Lead
Management Review
meetings and report quality performance, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership. Hold final authority for
nonconforming product disposition
and corrective action approvals. Drive
continuous improvement initiatives , root cause analysis, and CAPA effectiveness. Recruit, develop, and mentor quality personnel, including managers, engineers, and inspectors. Promote a culture of
quality, compliance, and operational excellence
across the organization. Qualifications / Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field , or equivalent experience. 8+ years
of progressive quality experience in
aerospace or regulated manufacturing
environments. Minimum
5 years in a leadership role
with ownership of a Quality Management System (QMS). Proven experience managing
AS9100-compliant quality systems
and
NADCAP audit readiness . Strong knowledge of
quality management, audits, CAPA, and compliance oversight . Demonstrated authority over
nonconformance disposition and corrective actions . Experience leading
Management Review, reporting to executives, and driving continuous improvement . Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in a
regulated aerospace environment . Preferred: AS9100 Lead or Internal Auditor certification Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) – ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Licenses & Certifications No specific licenses required. Preferred certifications include AS9100 Lead/Internal Auditor, CQE, or Six Sigma,
or equivalent demonstrated experience leading AS9100/NADCAP-compliant aerospace quality systems . Work Environment Office environment with
limited shop-floor exposure
for oversight. PPE required when entering production areas. Interaction with manufacturing staff, auditors, and executive leadership. Compensation Salary range:
