A growing mid-sized law firm in downtown Chicago is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in the acquisition and disposition of commercial property. This role involves supporting a diverse client base with transactional matters, offering strategic legal counsel, and ensuring compliance throughout all stages of real estate transactions.
Key Responsibilities: Advise clients on all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, closing documents, and related contracts. Conduct thorough due diligence including title review, environmental assessments, and zoning analysis. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful transactions. Manage complex closings and coordinate with lenders, brokers, and regulatory authorities. Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in IL. 4+ years of commercial real estate legal experience, with a focus on acquisitions and dispositions. Proven experience handling commercial property transactions from inception to closing. Strong contract management and negotiation skills. - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. Demonstrated adaptability and commitment to continuous learning.
