Position Overview
An established and growing law firm based in Hauppauge NY is seeking an experienced
Estates / Trusts Paralegal
to support its
Elder Law and Estate Administration
practice. This role involves extensive work with probate matters, Surrogate’s Court filings, and frequent client interaction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment. This is a full time and permanent position paying $33.00 – $36.00 per hour and the ideal candidate
must
have hands-on experience in
Estates, Trusts, and Probate/Estate Administration . must have Paralegal Certificate Required. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal looking for long-term stability and professional growth in a specialized area of law. This role is
NOT
for a Real Estate Paralegal - Applicants with a primarily real estate–focused background will
not
be considered.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and file
Surrogate’s Court petitions
and related probate and administration documents Support attorneys with
Estate Administration, Estate Planning, and Elder Law
matters Maintain
heavy client contact , including gathering documentation and providing case updates Draft and prepare legal documents, including: Wills Trusts Powers of Attorney Health Care Proxies Guardianship applications Additional Surrogate’s Court filings Manage case files, deadlines, and court requirements with a high level of accuracy and organization
Qualifications Required:
Prior experience as a
Paralegal in an Estates/Trusts or Probate department Required:
Paralegal Certificate Not applicable:
Real Estate Paralegal experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent client service skills Superior organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Technical Skills Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Experience with
HotDocs
preferred Knowledge of
Time Matters
is a plus
