Associate, Executive Leadership Programs

Metis Strategy LLC, Washington, District of Columbia, us, 20022

Save Job

Metis Strategy’s Executive Leadership Programs convene C‑level technology leaders from large, complex enterprises to tackle the most important questions at the intersection of business and technology. Through curated executive networks, leadership trainings, and invitation‑only conferences, the programs create structured forums for candid peer exchange and shared learning among senior technology executives.

The Associate supports Executive Leadership Programs by capturing, synthesizing, and translating insights from executive conversations, events, trainings, and consulting engagements into structured research, thought leadership, and internal intelligence. While this role does not deliver consulting projects, it draws heavily on insight flowing from client work across the firm. Sitting at the center of this insight flow, the Associate turns qualitative input into clear themes, research ideas, and insights that help inform programming design and shape the firm’s point of view on key topics.

This is not a generalist research role, nor is it a traditional consulting delivery role focused on case execution or project‑based client work. Rather, this role manages and elevates executive‑level insights and consistently connects the dots across engagements at Metis Strategy. You will be expected to work closely with consultants and firm leaders to surface new ideas, sharpen Metis Strategy’s editorial perspective, and share insights on a regular basis.

Core Responsibilities

Executive Insight Synthesis

Review and synthesize notes, recordings, and materials from executive network meetings, leadership trainings, conferences, and other executive interactions into clear themes, questions, and insights.

Identify recurring patterns across these interactions to inform Metis Strategy’s research agenda and programming priorities.

Distinguish signal from noise, preserving nuance while surfacing the most consequential insights for senior technology leaders.

Research and Content Development

Draft insight briefs, research summaries, presentations, articles, and background materials for internal and external use, including original written content informed by executive conversations.

Support development of curated executive research and firm thought leadership (e.g., keynotes) that reflect Metis Strategy’s perspective on priority topics

Edit and refine consultant‑authored articles to ensure clarity, consistency, and executive readiness while preserving each author’s intent

Act as an editorial partner in shaping Metis Strategy’s point of view on priority topics, pushing for clear, differentiated perspectives rather than neutral summaries

Help curate and produce two newsletters – one weekly and another monthly – for an executive audience

Insight Management and Internal Enablement

Maintain and manage an executive insights and themes tracker, tagging insights by topic, industry, function, and relevance to firm priorities.

Leverage tracked insights to surface new patterns and proactively route relevant themes and case studies to consulting leaders based on known areas of need.

Work closely with consulting teams to incorporate executive network and conference insights into client work, and to feed learnings from client engagements back into the executive programs and research agenda.

Ensure requested insights, materials, and follow‑ups are tracked and fulfilled, and attend select sessions or events to support real‑time insight capture and synthesis.

A Note on AI Metis Strategy encourages the responsible and regular use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance capabilities, efficiencies, scalability and productivity across workflows. Candidates should be comfortable with, and excited about, collaborating with AI on a daily basis.

This role requires strong editorial judgment, including over AI output. We are looking for someone who:

Uses AI as a thought partner and force multiplier, not as a substitute for thinking

Critically evaluates AI‑generated content to identify gaps, biases, and inaccuracies

Improves and adapts AI output to meet Metis Strategy’s editorial standards

Qualifications and Expectations

2‑5 years of post‑undergraduate experience supporting senior leaders through research, synthesis, writing, or insight development in advisory, research, or editorial settings.

Bachelor’s degree in areas such as business, economics, political science, public policy, journalism, communications, or related fields

Graduate degree is not required, but considered a plus if in a relevant field

Strong interest in technology leadership (CIO, CTO, Chief Digital Officer, etc.) role and the evolving responsibilities of technology leaders, with curiosity about how executives think, decide, and prioritize

Strong listening skills, with the ability to capture and synthesize insights from live executive conversations, meetings, and events

Ability to navigate ambiguity and incomplete information; can impose structure without oversimplifying nuance

Clear, precise writer with the ability to summarize complex ideas for senior audiences.

Commitment to operational rigor and follow‑through to ensure insights, themes, and commitments are consistently tracked, updated, and delivered

Comfortable operating behind the scenes while working in close proximity to senior leaders and high‑visibility work

Facility with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with data analysis or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Visio) is a plus

High intellectual curiosity in the pursuit of professional and personal development

Integrity and professionalism, with the ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality

Relationship driven, with a proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external clients

Team player with a willingness to learn from others
