
Position Summary
Salary ranges from $85,000.00 to $89,000.00 per year based on education and experience.
To support the overall reporting function of the Finance department by ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic financial guidance.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and implementing of the company’s financial strategy.
Provide supervision, leadership, and training to direct reports of finance staff.
Ensure compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.
Monitor and analyze financial accounting data for accuracy.
Manage month end and year end closing processes.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports to provide to management.
Populate and review New York State regulatory compliance reports.
Oversee and coordinate both internal and external audits.
Assist in budget management by comparing actuals and identifying variances.
Review and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
Proven accounting work experience, 3 or more years required.
Experience in nonprofit accounting with understanding of State Agency’s regulatory requirements.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software, preferably with Oracle NetSuite.
Ability to improve and streamline accounting systems and operations.
Motivated learner with strong numeracy and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Expertise in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
Strong problem‑solving and time management skills.
Highly organized and attention to detail a must.
