KPMG is seeking a Temporary Senior Engineer for the Technology Operations Center to enhance our Digital Nexus technology organization for a twelve-month assignment. This role is an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to make a significant impact. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert-level technical assistance to application teams utilizing the OpenShift platform, effectively troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges related to OpenShift and virtualization technologies. Collaborate closely with application teams to understand their needs and provide strategic guidance for optimizing OpenShift virtualization deployments. Stay updated on industry trends to maintain a strong technical and business knowledge base. Work alongside operations and middleware teams to ensure rapid issue resolution and participate in an on-call rotation for critical support. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including knowledge base articles and best practices; contribute to automation tools and scripts to enhance support processes. Mentor and train junior engineers to help them grow their skills and expertise in OpenShift. Qualifications: A minimum of three years managing extensive container platforms and providing technical support for enterprise applications. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Hands-on experience with OpenShift (installation, configuration, troubleshooting) along with a strong understanding of containerization and Kubernetes; experience engineering CI/CD processes using tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins is a plus. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Python, or PowerShell, with a solid understanding of the SDLC lifecycle; familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) is advantageous, along with coding experience in software development languages. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to collaborate effectively with clients and team members. Detail-oriented with excellent technical writing skills, strong time management capabilities, and a passion for mentoring less experienced colleagues.
