Heavy Civil Estimator
Overview: We are seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator with experience estimating construction projects involving underground utilities and/or DOT-related scopes. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including underground utility and DOT scopes
Perform quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment
Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
Assist with bid strategy, value engineering, and risk analysis
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction
Support bid submissions and follow-up as needed
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience estimating heavy civil construction projects
Experience with underground utility scopes (storm, water, sewer) and/or DOT projects
Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
Proficiency with estimating software and Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Experience:
Experience with site development, roadway, or municipal infrastructure projects
Familiarity with DOT standards and bidding procedures
