Why Your Role Matters The Executive Director is a transformative leader committed to driving the successful execution of the organization's strategic imperatives. In this pivotal role, you will lead your center to deliver a Y experience that is impactful and relevant to the community. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with members, energizing employees and volunteers, inspiring donors, and fostering growth and innovation.

As the key leader, you will ensure high performance across all programs and services, focusing on quality, member engagement, and exceptional customer service. Your inclusive management style will empower your team to leverage their diverse skills and perspectives, creating a collaborative environment that drives results. You will oversee the achievement of strategic plan metrics, manage fiscal responsibilities, and ensure facility standards are met, all while enhancing the Y's reputation within the community.

By engaging with partners, local officials, and community organizations, you will cultivate meaningful relationships that strengthen the Y's impact. Additionally, you will lead innovative initiatives that address community needs, ensuring the organization remains a vital resource for years to come.

What You Bring to the Y

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field; advanced degrees are advantageous.

At least five years in a leadership position, ideally within a YMCA or nonprofit organization, showcasing a proven ability to manage diverse teams successfully.

Demonstrated capability to direct and enhance operations, focusing on developing and empowering volunteers to create a culture of engagement and impact.

Experience in supervising and mentoring staff to nurture talent and drive performance excellence.

Skilled in crafting and managing budgets in alignment with strategic goals, exhibiting strong financial acumen and resourcefulness.

Proven track record of successfully increasing membership and program enrollment through innovative strategies and effective community engagement.

A strong history of meeting financial targets, with experience in budget forecasting, variance analysis, and implementing necessary corrective measures.

Comprehensive understanding of the YMCA movement and a commitment to building relationships that advance the organization's mission and community impact.

Familiarity with or eagerness to learn about design thinking and social entrepreneurship, with the ability to devise creative solutions for community challenges.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, donors, and community leaders.

Capacity to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans that align with organizational objectives and community needs.
