Director of Labor Relations – Overview Transdev U.S. seeks a seasoned Director of Labor Relations to lead negotiations and maintain labor harmony across the West Region. This fully remote position requires residency in Arizona, California, Nevada, Washington, or Oregon.

Benefits

Competitive compensation: $130,000 – $160,000 annually

Vacation: minimum 2 weeks

Key Responsibilities

Serve as chief negotiator for labor agreements, aligning with company objectives.

Collaborate with operations, HR, finance, legal, and communications to develop creative labor‑relations solutions.

Monitor labor issues and grievance trends; proactively devise strategies to counter negative patterns.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of labor legislation, compensation, benefits, and best practices; coach leaders on compliance.

Develop and manage the annual labor‑relations operating plan.

Work with managers, HR leaders, and directors to foster healthy employee relationships.

Assist internal and outside counsel in grievance and arbitration proceedings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related field.

Experience:

7+ years in union labor relations; 5+ years in managerial roles.

Skills & Knowledge:

In‑depth understanding of the National Labor Relations Act, negotiation strategies, strike preparation, and labor‑contract economics; familiarity with costing labor contracts, strike management, federal and state labor regulations, and industry practices; excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills; highly organized; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Requirements

Ability to travel up to 50% within the region.

Eligible to work in the U.S. without restrictions.

Work Environment

Primarily office‑based with extended periods of sitting and computer work.

Flexible schedule as needed.
