Lead Heavy Civil Estimator
Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Lead Heavy Civil Estimator, where your expertise will be vital in driving the success of our heavy civil and sitework projects. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive and precise estimates that influence our bidding strategy across various civil scopes. We seek a highly skilled professional who can independently manage estimates from initial review to final submission.
Key Responsibilities
Generate complete and detailed estimates for heavy civil and sitework construction projects.
Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and in-depth cost analysis.
Examine drawings, specifications, and bid documents to clearly define scope and pinpoint potential risks.
Estimate projects encompassing excavation, underground utilities, grading, site concrete, and roadway construction.
Request, assess, and standardize subcontractor and supplier pricing for accuracy.
Develop effective production rates, schedules, and pricing strategies to optimize bids.
Engage in collaborative bid reviews with operations and project management to ensure seamless project transitions.
Contribute to value engineering and explore alternative methods and strategies when applicable.
Qualifications
10+ years of robust estimating experience in heavy civil and sitework projects.
Demonstrated ability to successfully oversee the entire bidding and estimating process.
Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction practices and methodologies.
Hands-on experience with excavation, utilities, grading, site concrete, and roadway construction.
Familiarity with estimating software, preferably HCSS and Agtek (but not mandatory).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Capability to juggle multiple bids and meet tight deadlines effectively.
