Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of IP docketing for U.S. and international portfolios, focusing on trademarks, patents, and domain names.
Prepare and share detailed docket reports with attorneys and legal teams, ensuring all deadlines are met rigorously.
Maintain and audit the docket database, including entering, clearing, and updating filing due dates and reminders as necessary.
Leverage advanced knowledge of the docket database to create tailored reports and implement required changes.
Assist in the intake and auditing of all transferred intellectual property files.
Coordinate client communications, ensuring the integrity of electronic case records.
Stay updated on trends, developments, and legal changes that affect IP procedures and regulations.
Engage with the USPTO or relevant trademark jurisdictions to confirm deadlines and filing requirements.
Identify and suggest improvements in policies and procedures, contributing to the advancement of the Docket Department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, renewal, and enforcement processes.
Proficiency with docketing software (e.g., Pattsy, CPI, Foundation IP, Anaqua).
Strong grasp of federal, state, and local intellectual property laws and regulations.
Familiarity with U.S. Patent terminology, prosecution procedures, and deadlines for both domestic and foreign IP issues.
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Effective organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Capacity to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently with self-direction and initiative.
Proficient in handling confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications:
Some education beyond high school is required, with a Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience is required.
