Job Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Estimator. You will support our Estimating Department throughout the entire bidding process while playing a key role in keeping business operations and activities organized and on track. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual capable of working closely with the project team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates.
Responsibilities
Prepare and lead development of proposals, including review of plans, specifications, and bid documents, quantity take-offs, vendor quotes, and cost analysis
Communicate directly with vendors and customers
Coordinate estimating meetings, prepare notes, spreadsheets, and reports
Attend site visits and meetings to take photographs, document site conditions, gather questions and requests for information, and perform due diligence
Prepare and review material and labor estimates of varying size and complexity
Identify scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities
Assist in mentoring and guiding junior estimators and estimating assistants as needed
Qualifications & Skills
3+ years of construction experience preferred
Strong understanding of construction plans and specifications
Proficient in mathematics, data analysis, and strategic report writing
Ability to effectively communicate with management, team members, customers, vendors, and trades professionals
Must be detail-oriented, analytical, have strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the estimating process
Flexibility and willingness to accommodate last-minute requests in a fast-paced environment, a team player, ready and willing to take on whatever challenge is offered
Experience with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets, estimating software and tools, and database managers, is preferred
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook), and the ability to adapt quickly to additional programs & software
