Position: Transmission Line EIT/Designer As a member of our nationally renowned Power Delivery team, you will work on diverse high‑voltage transmission line projects, ranging from structure replacements to expansive greenfield designs. This is an exciting entry‑level opportunity for a self‑driven, enthusiastic, and eager learner.
Primary Duties
Model, analyze, design, and check transmission lines.
Prepare engineering calculations, analyses, and reports.
Support senior engineers, project engineers, and project managers to meet project goals and deliverables.
Develop design sketches, concept drawings and work with CAD designers to develop construction drawings.
Participate in field walks to define scope, verify constructability, and document existing conditions; occasional short‑term travel (typically 1 to 3 days).
Assist in preparation of cost estimates, proposals, and specifications.
Perform tasks related to structure spotting and design, conductor sag and blowout calculations, clearance checks, foundation design, hardware selection and fit‑up, and development of bill of materials; coordinate with other disciplines for environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, public involvement, access roads, and construction requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; ability to obtain EIT within 12 months.
Candidate without an EIT will be placed into a Transmission Designer job and be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
Familiarity or willingness to learn transmission line design software such as PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, and PLS‑Tower.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
