
The Executive Director is a business-focused and service-oriented position that is responsible for providing health and human services, fostering advances in medical care, public health, and social services, in addition to interpreting the applicable tribal, state, and federal laws and policies that govern the administration and operations of Human & Health Services. The Executive provides the leadership and direction for the development and administration of the programs, activities, contracts and services provided and/or managed within the health, clinical, elder services and advocacy and guardianship departments. The incumbent exercises an extensive degree of autonomy, strategic thinking, organizational and political agility, and proficiency in financial analysis. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the health and human service directors work collaboratively to develop, design and implement strategies that are conducive to the Tribe’s overall goals and vision. Responsibilities encompass analysis, planning, forecasts, implementation, as well as evaluation of programs, staff, and departments to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality services.
Doctorate Degree in Health Services Administration, Health Planning, Public Health, Public Administration, Psychiatry, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Family Therapy, Substance Abuse or related field is required. Board Certified Medical Professional licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida, or ability to obtain it is highly preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of senior leadership experience working in a service focused government or public organization, with experience of leading a multi-department team of 50 or more direct reports is required. Prior experience in planning or directing health/human/clinic services, programs or working in the implementation and coordination of treatment plans is required. Ability to exemplify the highest level of professional standards/ethics and demonstrate appropriate and culturally sensitive service delivery and community-based treatment. Superior organizational skills, project management abilities, critical thinking, exceptional analytical and communication skills, results orientation, and proficiency in budget and finance are required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate proficiency computer and software applications. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
