
Are you creative, energetic, and ready to bring fresh ideas to life? The Bridge, WSAV’s daytime lifestyle program, is looking for a Lifestyle Host to join our dynamic team. This is a fun, fast-paced role with opportunities to work inside a television station and on exciting location shoots.
The Bridge is a half-hour lifestyle show airing Monday through Friday at 11:30am on WSAV with an encore at 1:30am. We are looking for our next host that will become the face of The Bridge show. If you have a fun, warm, energetic presence on TV, this is the job for you!
What You’ll Do
Provide daily on-camera contributions to The Bridge lifestyle program
Interview show guests and sales clients both in-studio and on location
Perform engaging and active live shots for remote location shoots
Maintain working knowledge of news, current events, and pop culture
Participate in station events to promote the station, The Bridge show, and overall goodwill in the community
Possess the ability to turn focus away from yourself and onto the guest(s) present and elevate their experience during the show
Schedule and set up video shoots
Edit and post video content to WSAV social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
Post sponsored video segments to WSAV.com
Work closely with sales team on client-driven content
Thoroughly understand what is important to a client and ensure those expectations are achieved during the show
Participate in creative brainstorming to help satisfy a client’s objectives and still create entertaining segments
Effortlessly integrate sponsored content
Assist Executive Producer with writing, developing, and executing show segments
Collecting information, video or photos at remote locations for post-production
Researching show topics and developing questions for guests in coordination with Executive Producer
Active participation in maintaining the Bridge’s social media account and assisting with all digital content as needed
Help with special projects and other duties as assigned
Ensure compliance standards for integrated content are upheld
Who We’re Looking For
High-energy, charisma and the ability to think and react quickly during live or unscripted moments
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
An ability to build rapport with a wide range of guests, clients and coworkers
Organization to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines
Working knowledge of modern newsroom systems including AP ENPS, Adobe Premiere, video/audio equipment, file transfer systems, editing and digital content publishing platforms
Ability to work non-traditional hours on occasion including evenings and weekends.
Experience using social media and digital tools to amplify content
Ability to work with all departments (Sales, Creative Services, News, Production, Programming) at WSAV
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in TV/Film, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years professional experience on-camera as an MMJ, reporter, anchor or show host desired
Physical Demands & Work Environment Position requires the operation of camera, camera equipment, lighting, microphones, computer and editing suite. Transport of equipment weighing up to 30 lbs. Work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Work may be conducted in varying lighting conditions. A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
