Role The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers. This individual is responsible for connecting with customers to understand how best to match their needs with First United Bank products and services, and for mentoring employees to do the same. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and the ability to establish and cultivate strong personal connections. This individual must be committed to precision and adhering to the bank\'s policies and regulatory standards as they relate to the role.

Responsibilities

Maintains a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory issues relating to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts.

Follows proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities performed.

Retains existing customers and develops new customer relationships.

Serves as customers\' single point of contact on all First United Bank products and services.

Consistently meets and often exceeds performance goals; participates in sales campaigns; promotes new products and services and educates customers and peers within the bank.

Participates in meetings, bank functions, and customer appreciation/community events as requested or assigned by supervisor.

Provides excellent customer service, including greeting customers, using their name, building rapport, and fostering customer loyalty.

Identifies and matches customer product needs with First United Bank products and services by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs, including referrals to other staff when appropriate.

Opens new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other banking products; assists customers with questions and paperwork as required.

Assists customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, statements, stop payments, online banking, ACH, wire processing, notary services, etc.).

Processes transactions accurately and efficiently in line with bank policies; maintains drawer limits and vault duties as applicable.

Resolves customer issues proactively and maintains compliance with standards and procedures.

Assists with account issues and charge-off repayment plans as needed.

Performs security functions for bank and vault operations and maintains overall safety of bank grounds.

Masters the Primary Purpose and Essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position.

Employee Specifications

High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college preferred.

Minimum of 1 year banking experience as a Teller, Lending Assistant or New Accounts is required.

Cash handling experience preferred.

Superior customer service skills required.

Basic mathematics and strong problem-solving abilities.

Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and co-workers.

Time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good judgment and decision-making skills; critical thinking and multi-tasking abilities.

Professional attitude and appearance; ethical conduct at work and in related environments.

Active listening and customer-focused communication.
