Technology Advisor – Sales Engineer
Daily Thermetrics is actively recruiting for a Technology Advisor / Sales Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Outside Sales team. This role will be responsible for increasing Daily’s market share in the assigned region by meeting with existing and potential customers, generating leads, driving sales, providing exceptional technical support, and delivering excellent customer service. The role will also be required to work directly with Daily’s inside sales team, engineering groups, and field services department to ensure quotes are generated accurately to meet customer project needs. The main duties consist of traveling to assigned territory, meeting with customers, leading technical presentations, addressing sales questions, developing contracts, managing orders, and serving as the main point of contact for Daily Thermetrics in the area.
Key Responsibilities
Call and visit directly with oil refineries, petrochemical/chemical plants, industrial plants and local engineering firms in assigned area
Manage assigned territory through direct sales
Actively seek and manage sales opportunities in assigned region and act as direct salesperson
Ensure all customer inquiries from territory are handled promptly and professionally
Grow market share in assigned territory
Sales calls, appointments, or presentations with clients within territory
Develop and execute sales strategies that drive customers to Company sales channels, online, or otherwise generate sales leads
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and related data to determine design factors for the purposes of quoting
Provide sales, client support by working directly with engineers to provide the customer with solutions to their specific applications
Maintain close working relationship with inside sales team and clients to ensure that quotes and orders are turned into confirmed orders
Submit and maintain vendor data and due dates for deliverables [vendor data/testing documents, etc.]
Interact with multiple departments including engineering, drafters, QA, purchasing, & manufacturing
Contact clients to resolve issues, engineering changes, and sales questions
Assist with entering quotes and sales orders in ERP system
Other duties as assigned

Outside Sales Aptitude: Ability to call on existing and potentially new customers, makes technical sales presentations, build solid professional relationship with customers, clients, contractors
Technical Orientation: Need a strong understanding of technical terminology, calculations, and design prototypes
Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively with customers of all levels, engineers, executives, project manager, field contractors; as well as be agent of change.
Problem-Solving: Need to be able to identify and resolve technical problems.
Analytical Skills: Need to be able to analyze data and identify trends, as well as maintain required customer, safety, environmental, QA compliance.

Self-driven initiative to respond to fluid, dynamic, professional outside sales capacity, and customer-oriented manufacturing environment as well as respond to rapidly changing priorities

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering
Must possess strong technical problem-solving skills
Professional technical communication skills (verbal & written)
Strong attention to detail in a dynamic work environment with the ability to consistently recognize changing priorities throughout the day and respond accordingly
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Organized & detail-oriented with a commitment to 100% accuracy
Enthusiastic team player, creative thinker, and focused on bottom-line results
Core Strengths Build rapport with customers by exceeding service expectations, sales order management, excellent customer service, project management, strong technical math skills to interpret schematics, designs and engineering changes, excellent presentation and public speaking abilities, strong critical thinking skills, and able to successfully manage multiple projects occurring simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
Physically able to conduct meetings, presentation; as well as carry equipment, samples used for sales presentations.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, at a time.
Ability to work, maneuver about, or stand in noisy fabrication shop, or outdoors in a petrochemical facility for extended periods of time, as needed
Employment Details
Full-Time.
Remote work, away from manufacturing facility located in Houston, Texas
Will train, visit, work at the manufacturing facility, as needed
Dynamic, Customer-Oriented manufacturing environment
Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM PST, and available as needed outside of these days/hours to attend to customer emergency needs, and for business travel, as needed
Reports to Regional Sales Manager
