Position Overview
Rimol Greenhouse Systems is seeking a highly motivated
CAD Technician / Technical Designer
to work alongside our existing senior CAD technician. This role supports engineering, fabrication, and product development by creating, updating, and managing technical drawings and documentation for our greenhouse structures and components.
Note : This position is an in-person role, requiring 4 days per week onsite in our office in Hooksett, NH with the option to work remotely one day per week.
Key Responsibilities Structural & Technical Understanding
Read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and engineered plans.
Communicate effectively with structural engineers regarding design requirements, load changes, and structural details.
Identify differences between Rimol standard parts and new engineering requirements, understanding when changes are required to meet structural loads.
CAD & Drawing Production
Create and revise part drawings using
Rhino
for fabrication purposes.
Maintain and organize all part drawings, version history, and future revisions.
Develop working knowledge of Rimol part assemblies, materials, and fabrication capabilities to ensure accurate and practical designs.
Create precise 2D and 3D CAD models based on project specifications, sketches, or concepts.
Collaboration & Workflow
Work closely with fabrication teams to communicate part changes, updates, and manufacturing details.
Support inventory and fabrication departments when material or design changes affect production.
Use
NetSuite
to create and update parts as needed for manufacturing and BOM accuracy.
Instruction Manuals & Documentation
Maintain, update, and improve Rimol instruction manuals.
Provide oversight of manual content across all product lines.
Communicate manual changes to the sales team and fabrication teams.
Receive and incorporate constructive feedback from sales staff and customers to improve clarity, accuracy, and usability.
Architectural & 3D Modeling
Create or learn to create
BIM
models of Rimol greenhouses for architects, design professionals, and project planners.
Qualifications
Experience with
Rhino , AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD tools (Rhino experience preferred). Experience with Rhino Grasshopper programming tool highly desirable.
Ability to read, understand, and create detailed structural or mechanical drawings.
Strong communication skills across engineering, production, and sales functions.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to problem-solve and adapt designs based on engineering, fabrication, or inventory constraints.
Eagerness to learn greenhouse-specific systems, structural components, and company standards.
Ability to work in-person in our office in Hooksett, New Hampshire (4 days per week in office expected).
