DB2 DBA for iSeries (IBM i / AS400), specializing in database performance tuning and optimization.
Technical Skills
8+ years of experience with DB2 for iSeries (IBM i/ AS400)
Proven expertise in database performance tuning and optimization
Advanced knowledge of SQL tuning, query optimization, and execution plans
Solid understanding of IBM i architecture, storage, and workload management
Review current database usage patterns to identify anti-patterns and potential performance issues
Analyze execution plans, wait time and resource metrics, and top N queries without performing query rewrites
Identify index gaps, inefficient indexing, and CPU, memory, I/O, and bufferpool configuration issues
Diagnose and resolve database performance, availability, and stability issues
Establish baselines to validate tuning and provide clear, actionable recommendations to application teams
Collaborate with tools team for monitoring
Documentation and implementation of best practices
Knowledge transfer of common tools, processes, and issue resolution
Roles & Responsibilities
