Position Summary The Instrument Readiness Specialist provides hands‑on operational and technical support for LC‑MS, HPLC, and GC‑MS instrumentation within a laboratory environment. This role ensures analytical instruments are properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for use, while supporting sample preparation, data integrity, and compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards. The position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced laboratory setting.

Additional Details Contract Length: 12 Months with the possibility of extension

Pay range: $20 to $ 26/hour on W2 as per your experience

Key Responsibilities

Operate LC‑MS, HPLC, and GC‑MS systems following approved SOPs and validated methods

Perform instrument startup and shutdown

Load analytical methods and set up sample sequences

Run samples and acquire data

Conduct routine system checks

Prepare samples (dilution, extraction, filtration, derivatization if required)

Prepare reagents and mobile phases

Select and manage laboratory consumables

Ensure proper sample labeling and handling

Monitor instrument performance (pressure, flow rates, vacuum systems, detector response, mass accuracy)

Identify deviations or abnormal trends and report issues

Perform preventive maintenance such as leak checks, column flushing, injector cleaning, ion source cleaning, calibration, and tuning verification

Maintain accurate logs for instrument usage and maintenance

Document deviations and corrective actions

Archive raw data and analytical results according to company standards

Support audit readiness and quality assurance activities

Follow laboratory safety and environmental health procedures

Work closely with scientists, project leads, and site stakeholders

Participate in required safety and technical training programs

Required Skills

Working knowledge of LC‑MS, HPLC, and GC‑MS instrumentation

Hands‑on experience with instrument operation and preventive maintenance

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity

Ability to follow SOPs and regulatory requirements

Basic troubleshooting skills

Strong organizational and time‑management skills

Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience

Associate’s degree in a scientific/technical field with 5+ years of hands‑on analytical instrument experience

High School diploma/GED with 7+ years of directly related laboratory experience

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
