Overview

The principal role of Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing comprehensive EHS programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce organizational risk, and promote a proactive safety culture. This role provides advanced technical expertise in safety, environmental compliance, ergonomics, incident investigations, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior EHS Specialist partners with leadership and front-line employees to drive operational excellence and ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace across all operations with the right requirements including regulatory and compliance. Responsibilities

Lead all EHS requirements as an example for others to follow Create a culture of awareness, acceptance & adherence to the EHS requirements Inspect the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks Schedule routine inspections, and implement training according to findings Develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain appropriate Health, Safety, Environmental, Industrial and Process Safety Programs Audit, analyze and collate EHS performance data and propose effective improvements Perform facility audits, surveys and inspections to identify environmental and occupational hazards, to ensure compliance with applicable regulation process improvement Manage SDS data to ensure safety in material handling Track compliance and manage workers compensation and drug screening programs Proactively meet KPI requirements to reduce exposure and control risks Ensure hazardous waste disposal is correct; lead Safety and Hazard assessment activities including Process Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis Attend training and seminars Track compliance with various Federal, State, and Local environmental requirements Lead Safety Teams and Waste Minimization Team programs to resolve or improve EHS performance Prepare, submit, and document EPA and OSHA requirements up to OSHA 300 log, CAA, CWA, RCRA, storm water/wastewater generator, and Air Emission inventories Oversee all chemical and hazardous waste management, including transportation Support EHS budget, including timely review of EHS related invoices Reporting

Education: Bachelor of Science in Safety, Environmental or an associate degree in EHS or equivalent experience Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certifications Position Requirements And Qualifications: 1-3 years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; 1-3 years in an EHS leadership/management role ideal; experience at an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier is helpful Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, NFPA, and Hazwoper requirements Experience in risk management, ergonomics, PPE, industrial safety, injury and incident investigations, reporting and auditing, and training Successful track record of designing and managing safety, workers’ compensation and drug screening programs Knowledge of process improvements and programs; automotive plant knowledge and manufacturing terms Experience in corporate and/or multi-site manufacturing settings Ability to read and interpret training documents for office and production environments Independent judgment and initiative; capable team player Systematic thinking; strong liaison and management skills Teamwork and mutual respect; works safely and maintains high safety standards Communication: clear, respectful, timely, accurate Analytical, problem-solving, flexibility, adaptability Technical/Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP Physical Demands and Work Environment
