Serve as a trusted authority in the declassification of sensitive intelligence records. In this role, you will independently evaluate classified materials, apply federal declassification standards, and coordinate interagency equities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accountability. Support the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Lifecycle Declassification Program by conducting detailed security reviews of classified records in accordance with Executive Order 13526. As a Mid‑Level Declassification Analyst, you will evaluate DIA equities, apply declassification guidelines, coordinate interagency referrals, and ensure records are properly prepared for accessioning to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). This role requires independent judgment, deep familiarity with classification standards, and the ability to operate in a high‑volume production environment with strict quality controls.

Work Schedule and Location On‑site. This full‑time position will work Monday through Friday in Landover, Maryland.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct systematic declassification reviews of DIA records (textual and electronic) in accordance with E.O. 13526, Part 3 guidelines and exemptions.
Apply declassification determinations and document downgrade or release decisions on behalf of the Original Classification Authority (OCA) or DIA representatives.
Identify DIA and other agency equities; coordinate appropriate referrals to original classification authorities.
Ensure strict adherence to classification marking requirements, including portion markings and declassification instructions.
Assist in the accessioning of reviewed records to NARA in accordance with federal archival standards.
Identify and capture appropriate metadata for each reviewed record for integration into inventory tools.
Support record inventory development and lifecycle records management activities.
Maintain production standards consistent with contract deliverables (minimum monthly box review targets).
Ensure no more than two quality assurance errors per reviewed box to avoid re‑review requirements.
Properly safeguard classified information and report any deviations in accordance with DIA security policies.
Required
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Minimum 5 years of experience applying E.O. 13526 principles to classification and declassification reviews.
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Additional Qualifications
Certified by the Department of Energy as a Historical Records Reviewer for identifying Restricted Data (RD) and Formerly Restricted Data (FRD).
Strong background in handling classified information and conducting declassification reviews.
Ability to operate independently while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Physical ability to lift boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds.
Desired
Experience coordinating interagency equity referrals.
Experience preparing records for NARA accessioning.
Familiarity with records inventory tools and metadata tagging processes.
Experience working within DoD or Intelligence Community records management environments.
Strong written documentation skills for audit trails and declassification determinations.
