Job Title: Salon Business Consultant Great opportunity! Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Broward County (Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Weston, Coral Springs, Florida (FL)). Ideal candidate would reside in or near Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, or Pembroke Pines. Uncapped Commission, vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits. Essential Function Salon/Beauty Industry experience preferred. The Salon Business Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers to help grow their salons overall sales. The Consultant will meet and achieve assigned sales goals by leveraging manufacturer education and sales resources. Sales should expand through opening new doors and selling approved beauty products while introducing new products and concepts. The Consultant will actively use social media as an additional outlet to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed beauty professionals.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties Grow the Business: Identify key accounts within the territory and establish an efficient route to develop existing customers while seeking new partnerships. Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and tracking results of in-salon promotions, programs and concepts. Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs. Communicate all sales initiatives with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communications in a timely manner (24 hours). Analyze accounts to decide on brand support, education, and promotions needed to grow within the salon. Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals. Comply with procedures regarding processing of returns, including pickup and completion of required documents. Complete assignments and projects timely. Work with all areas of business (customer service, accounts receivable, IT, etc.). Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets. Manage administrative aspects of the role in a timely manner (daily order entry and maintenance of customer information in Salesforce). Attract and retain salon clientele using social media for communication, promotion, education and product knowledge. Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes. Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow-up plans and needed assistance. Grow Team and Culture: Be a subject matter expert on utilizing digital platforms and social media to grow the business and share knowledge to grow the team’s capabilities. Attend all meetings, functions and events as required and maintain regular contact. Must be available to attend shows, participate in setup and dismantling of displays, handling back stock, and other physical activities as needed. Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and foster change management within the team. Grow Yourself: Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow, with a focus on continuous improvement and expanding digital and social media techniques. Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop vendor relationships. Allocate time to learning via available tools and resources; stay agile to market changes. Increase product, industry, and market knowledge; create an organized work environment and workflow to service customers efficiently. Maintain organized work processes to support customers effectively. Experience And Skills Required High school diploma or equivalent certification. Minimum of one (1) year of outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling. Must live within the assigned territory. Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred. Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines and books of business. Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Salesforce, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle. Experience with iPad a plus. Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools. Travel within the territory is required, including attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events, potentially including overnight stays and some weekend work. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety-minded manner. Frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of driving are necessary. Committed to scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours as needed. Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. Professional business image and positive interaction with the public. Clear and effective communication, both orally and in writing, at all levels inside and outside the organization. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements The work environment involves typical risks and safety precautions found in offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles. Examples include safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, and compliance with fire regulations and traffic signals.
