
Seasonal Part-Time Golf Course Mower/Operator

Summary:
This is a part-time, seasonal position with a rate of pay of $15/hour. The Golf Course Mower/Operator maintains the grounds and turf of a golf course in playing condition as directed by Golf Grounds Operations Manager by performing the following duties:
General Statement of Position: Assists in various areas of grounds maintenance at Heritage Bluffs Public Golf Club.
Representative Essential Job Functions:
Maintains a positive community image for the District.
Strives to maintain a positive environment among the District’s organizational division.
Actively supports the Safety Policy and the District’s established loss control program, including training, safety rules and developing ideas for the prevention of incidents, while providing a safe environment for Park District staff members and patrons.
Able to safely operate various types of ride-on mowers, golf carts, and other equipment.
Keeps vehicles, mowers, equipment and tools in good, clean operating condition.
Performs various aspects of turf maintenance.
Becomes thoroughly familiar with Safety Manual contents.
Cooperates with the Safety Coordinator in implementing all aspects of the safety polices and procedures as outlined by the Park District.
Services tees, greens, bunkers, and golf practice areas.
Transports equipment, materials and other items as needed.
Reports equipment issues to Golf Grounds Operations Manager & Mechanic.
Performs all other duties relating to the position as directed or delegated, or as may be necessary.

Requirements Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older for this position. Must have a valid driver’s license. Able to work at a moderate level of physical exertion. Able to take direction from supervisor(s) and staff. Willing to work in very hot, very cold, or rainy conditions. Able to work early morning hours.
Position Considerations
Will be exposed to a wide variety of weather conditions throughout the year, including extremes of heat and cold, wind, rain, snow and humidity.
Suitable personal protective equipment often required.
Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, and other physical actions are typical aspect of the job.
Safety and Risk Management Use material-handling equipment or staff assistance when lifting and/or moving objects of 50lbs or greater.
Promptly report any work-related or patron related injuries to supervisor.
Correct unsafe conditions and/or report them to a supervisor.
Becomes thoroughly familiar with the Safety Manual contents.
Cooperates with the Safety Coordinator in implementing all aspects of the safety policies and procedures as outlined by the Park District.
Must be able to use personal protective equipment based on job specific tasks and may include, but is not limited to, the following:
Safety goggles/ glasses
Earplugs, ear covers
Appropriate work boot
Protective gloves
Helmets
