The Area Catering Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the catering and group sales efforts across the Dulles Region hotels, which include a full-service hotel, conference center, and multiple focused-service properties.

Professional Experience and Background Sales Strengths and Competencies Proactive Sales and Business Development
Establishes, targets, and grows high-potential accounts with a focus on new business acquisition and account saturation.
Strong negotiating skills with the ability to create tailored, value-based solutions to close business.
Understands industry trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses, market demand, and how to position the hotel against competitors.
Client Relationship Management
Builds and maintains long-term client relationships that support repeat business and future revenue opportunities.
Communicates effectively and professionally with clients from a variety of industries and segments.
Provides consistent follow-through from initial inquiry to event execution and post-event feedback.
Event and Operations Coordination
Collaborates closely with Food & Beverage, Operations, and Sales teams to ensure flawless event execution.
Conducts pre-event meetings to ensure alignment on group needs and expectations.
Prepares accurate group resumes and ensures all details—such as setup requirements, billing instructions, and special requests—are communicated and executed properly.
Technical and Administrative Skills
The ideal candidate is:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Delphi.fdc, with the ability to manage leads, accounts, and event documentation efficiently.
Skilled in developing and customizing menus, proposals, event orders, and pricing in partnership with culinary and operational teams.
Exceptionally organized, with the ability to balance multiple events, client communications, and sales activities simultaneously.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel catering sales, event management, or hospitality sales, with a proven track record of revenue growth and client relationship management.
Experience supporting or managing multiple hotel brands or properties, including full-service hotels, select-service hotels, and conference centers.
Demonstrated success in proactive sales, account development, and closing business in competitive markets.
Hands‑on experience managing meeting space, event logistics, food and beverage coordination, and audiovisual needs.
Familiarity with creating and executing catering promotions, sales action plans, and market strategies.
Preferred:
A degree in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business, or a related field.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
