Associate Director Civil Engineering

Salary: £68,000 – £76,000
This is a rare Associate Director Civil Engineering opportunity offering a clear pathway to board level within a thriving, independent multi-disciplinary consultancy. I am working exclusively with the Directors on this appointment, reflecting its strategic importance to the business.
The practice is strengthening its Civil and Infrastructure team and seeking an Associate Director Civil Engineering to lead project delivery, develop people and drive business growth across a growing portfolio of residential and industrial schemes. This role combines technical authority, commercial oversight and senior client leadership within a fully integrated civil and structural environment.
As an Associate Director Civil Engineering, you will act as Project Lead on medium and large schemes, managing programme, resources, financial performance and technical assurance. You will mentor engineers, maintain quality standards and represent the business at senior client level. The successful Associate Director Civil Engineering will play a visible role in shaping the future direction of the civil engineering team.
Key responsibilities
Lead medium and large civil infrastructure schemes
Manage programmes, budgets and resource planning
Provide technical oversight and quality assurance
Mentor and develop the civil engineering team
Act as senior client contact across projects
Identify and secure new business opportunities
Candidate requirements
Chartered Engineer (MICE)
Strong hands‑on design and technical background
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams
Commercial awareness including fee and financial management
Track record of client development and work‑winning
