We are looking for a Lending Business Manager for:
Business enablement & governance: Drive the business operating rhythm, governance cadence, and senior management forums; coordinate priorities and decision-making across LevFin, SSG, LCM and Corporate Lending.
Change-the-bank leadership: Sponsor and deliver complex transformation programmes (process simplification, operating model redesign, platform and workflow improvements), including scope definition, delivery planning, dependency/risk management, and progress reporting.
Front-to-back (F2B) oversight: Coordinate end-to-end process and control alignment across origination, underwriting, execution, syndication, agency/servicing and lifecycle events, partnering with Operations and Technology.
Regulatory & audit management: Lead preparation for regulatory exams and internal/external audits; coordinate walkthroughs, responses, and remediation plans; track actions to closure with high-quality documentation and governance.
Risk & control coordination: Act as a first‑line partner to Risk, Compliance and Legal; manage and elevate non‑financial risk matters; ensure effective control environment and issue management.
New Business Enablement: Oversee New Business Initiatives (NBIs), Client Engagement Boards (CEBs) and Business Transformations (BTs) from concept through approval, implementation, and BAU embedding.

Your team You will sit within the Global Banking COO organization and work day-to-day with senior stakeholders across Global Banking lending products, as well as colleagues in Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance, Legal and Compliance. The role includes line management of a small team of COOs / Business Managers, setting clear objectives, ensuring consistent standards of execution, and developing talent.
As Member in the Global Banking COO team, the Lending Business Manager is an operating partner to the Global Banking lending businesses, covering Leveraged Finance, Sponsor & Structured Group (SSG), Leveraged Capital Markets (LCM), and Corporate Lending. The role supports the lending franchises across strategy execution, front-to-back (F2B) governance, risk & control, and business enablement, and operates within the Global Banking COO organization, rolling up into the Investment Bank COO.
Your expertise
Ideally 10+ years of experience in an operating role (Business Manager / COO / Chief of Staff / transformation leadership) within Investment Banking or Global Banking, ideally with exposure to lending products.
Demonstrated change-the-bank / transformation delivery experience, including running complex cross-functional programmes with clear milestones, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
Project/programme management capability (planning, governance, reporting, RAID management, stakeholder alignment).
Proven experience managing Regulatory exams and Audit engagements, including preparation of materials, coordination of walkthroughs, responses, and driving remediation to closure.
People management experience, including leadership of a small team (ideally COOs/Business Managers or similar roles).
Judgement, control mindset, and ability to influence across senior stakeholders.
Direct experience across one or more of: Leveraged Finance, LCM, SSG, Corporate Lending.
