AECOMs West Region Strategic Communications Group is looking for a senior-level Graphic Design/Communications
Specialist III
to serve as the visual content lead on a large transportation infrastructure project. This role will require working 3-5 days a week from our client’s downtown office in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with project teams to strategize on visual design best practices.
Coordinates with client staff to prepare graphic displays and layouts for public information.
Understands technical project information, develops a design strategy related to that information, and oversee the tasks within that strategy to execution.
Develops themes, core messages, and design collateral for multiple audiences, including digital users, the media, local communities, statutory bodies, technical groups, and elected representatives.
Creates compelling visual designs and layouts for a range of print and digital materials, such as fact sheets, e-newsletters, FAQs, exhibits, social media graphics, reports, maps, and other media.
Uses Adobe Creative Suite’s multiple tools (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) to create daily visual work products.
Develops eye-catching presentations for meetings with various stakeholders within a client’s brand guidelines.
Revises and refines designs based on feedback from team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Assists in the development and execution of creative concepts and campaigns.
Researches and stays up to date with industry trends and best practices to inform the creative process and produce high-quality work.
Integrates with cross-functional teams to ensure creative work aligns with project goals and client needs.
Performs work in accordance with agreed objectives, budget, and timescale with little/no supervision.
Exercises sound judgment when communicating with internal and/or external clients or customers and develops relationships with key project contacts.
Ensures that all creative work meets brand guidelines and standards.
Performs a self-check of work prior to submitting to others for review/approval.
Shows a wide degree of creativity while having considerable latitude during execution of work.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously and meets project deadlines.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Graphic Design or similar visual arts degree, plus four years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalence of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements
Expert level skills in InDesign including use of styles and proper template set up.
Expert level skills in PowerPoint.
Experience with creating maps and using GIS-based systems.
Intermediate skills with Illustrator and Photoshop.
6 + years of experience in the graphic design function highly preferred.
Previous experience working in the graphic design function for Architectural/Engineering/Construction (AEC), transportation, or infrastructure industries.
Experience with ADA/508 Compliance Remediation on all design documents.
Ability to provide a link to their portfolios, or upload examples of their previous work, highly preferred.
