Through weekly programs and signature events, ETEC convenes leaders and partners to strengthen East Tennessee’s economic competitiveness and innovation ecosystem.
ETEC is a private, independent, regional, 501(c)(6) nonprofit membership organization founded in 1973. Today, ETEC represents more than 400 member organizations and manages a robust annual calendar of meetings, conferences, and special events across East Tennessee and beyond.

Responsibilities The Digital Marketing & Design Coordinator supports the East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC) and the Tennessee Nuclear Network (TN²) by executing day-to-day marketing and digital communications activities across platforms. This role ensures timely, consistent, and professional delivery of design and content while following established brand standards, messaging frameworks, and approval processes.
This position is execution-focused, enabling the Director of Communications to operate at a strategic level while ensuring communications, marketing, design and digital tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
Digital Marketing & Content Execution
Prepare, schedule, and deploy email communications using established templates and guidance for events and initiatives
Draft routine marketing emails, announcements, and promotional messages
Update website content, including event pages, news items, and basic copy edits
Place and coordinate digital advertising orders as directed
Maintain content calendars and ensure deadlines are met
Graphic Design & Visual Content
Design and produce marketing and promotional materials, including:
Event flyers, save-the-dates, and promotional graphics
Social media graphics and digital ads
Website and email banners
Rack cards, signage, and event materials
Resize, adapt, and format graphics for various digital and print channels
Support ETEC, TN², Nuclear Is Here, and ETEC-led events with consistent, brand-aligned visuals
Manage and organize digital image and design assets
Social Media & Digital Presence
Manage and post content to ETEC and TN² social media platforms
Create visual and written content within approved messaging and campaign frameworks
Follow a
structured but flexible posting schedule , adjusting as events and priorities evolve
Coordinate content timing around events, programs, and announcements
Communications Support & Coordination
Draft routine copy for social media, emails, website updates, and digital promotions
Proofread content for accuracy, clarity, tone, and consistency
Coordinate with internal staff to gather content inputs and approvals
Implement feedback efficiently, with minimal rework
Communicate clearly about timelines, workload, and capacity
Analytics & Optimization
Track basic engagement metrics for email and social media
Identify opportunities to improve consistency, reach, and efficiencyShare observations and recommendations with the team
Administrative & Team Support
Maintain content calendars, task lists, and scheduling tools
Support marketing and communications needs related to events, programs, and announcements
Follow established approval, publishing, and documentation processes
Participate in regular staff meetings and coordination check-ins
Qualifications
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Clear, concise writing ability
Comfort with digital tools including email platforms, content management systems, and design software including Canva and Adobe products
Ability to follow brand and editorial guidelines consistently
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability
Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions efficiently
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Experience
3+ years of experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, and digital content support
Familiarity with nonprofit, public sector, or mission-driven organizations a plus
Experience supporting events, campaigns, through multi-channel communications helpful
Experience using Asana a plus
