Sr. UI Designer - User Experience GC/USC ONly
Contract
Mindlance is a national recruiting company which partners with many of the leading employers across the country. Feel free to check us out at http://www.mindlance.com.
Our team, the Experience Design Group, was specifically formed to bring a fresh, focused perspective to the firm's digital product portfolio. We have a goal of making our self the better firm for today’s investor by designing world-class client experiences that boldly differentiate us from the competition. And here's how you can help us make that happen.
We're looking for a Senior Experience Designer, with a focus in UI and Interaction design, to join our team and help guide our digital platforms into the future. See below for a list of a few things that we value in a new team member. It's what makes the culture we've cultivated throughout the years here so very special. If any of these resonate, you might just be the perfect candidate for the job.
Main Accountability 1: Design user interfaces systems for desktop and mobile applications Example:
Design user interfaces for the next wave of products while also maintaining and improving legacy products through their complete lifecycle
Produce design specification documents, assets, and comps with often short turnaround times
Support the product team with collaboration, brainstorming, and integrated working sessions to help solve large problems
2: Manage quality assurance process to guarantee results Example:
Work with developers to assure proper coding for the presentation layer of the platforms you design
Provide detailed documentation for how designs should be implemented
Be readily available to developers who may need to seek advice or clarifications on your designs
Build asset libraries and style guides for development teams to use
Get periodic feedback from development teams, assessing the effectiveness of your deliverables
3: Keep up with current trends that apply to digital product and experience design for the web and mobile Examples:
Understand current digital product trends such as designing for gestures, responsive web design, augmented reality, and wearables
Understand upcoming OS releases for mobile devices and what impact they may have on our products
Be up to date with the ever evolving landscape of design tools
Stay on top of technology trends and competing/emerging platforms across the industry to look for ways we can influence them or learn from our competitor's failures and successes
Requirements
Hands-on visual UI system experience: Familiar with creating overall design, icon systems, motion graphics, style guides, pattern libraries, and specs
Strong abilities in User Experience are required
Collaborative mindset: Interest in working with UX designers, product managers, engineers, and company leadership in a positive and professional manner
Conceptual thinking: Can start with big ideas to identify product and design opportunities, explore them visually, and distill them into an actionable direction
Executional thinking: Can turn frameworks into usable interactions or prototypes and iterate on them with users and engineers until they're launched—often returning to finished solutions to make them better based on analytics and feedback
Easily adaptable: Have a track record of working in a complex, multi-platform, multi-device ecosystem
Multi-tasking abilities: Able to manage several projects at one time
Presentation skills: Ability to compellingly demonstrate work—to persuade others and to be persuaded
Communication understanding: Can clearly articulate your own thoughts, while at the same time being able to listen to others
Craftsmanship: Must be extremely detail-oriented, able to craft polished and pixel-perfect designs
Agile: Ability to work with small teams with quick turnaround times
Prototyping: Must have functional code knowledge to bring high fidelity prototypes to life in a quick turnaround environment
Working remotely: Comfortable working in virtual environments and remotely for nationwide teams
Software experience: Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required, and Sketch app knowledge preferable
REQUIREMENT: To be considered you must provide an online portfolio or .pdf with resume
