position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview
At the direction of the director of Communications, creates and implements cohesive and effective internal communications plans that inform and educate health system employees, including feature communications materials that include stories, announcements, memos, internal newsletter materials, brochures, and collateral materials. Specialist also supports scheduling of rounding activities, town halls, manages daily communications, and assists with employee communication forums. Specialist looks for innovative new platforms to deliver communications and helps maintain the internal website.
Responsibilities
Acts as liaison between Capital Health’s Communications department and clinical and administrative departments of the health care system as assigned.
Creates and executes communications plans to support internal initiatives and events including health and employee recognition activities.
Conducts interviews, researches, and writes information intended for distribution in print publications and internal communications channels.
Copies, edits, and proofreads material, securing source and leadership approvals before they are published in print or digital version, while adhering to tight deadlines.
Participates in collaborative content meetings, makes suggestions on tactics.
Manages timelines for internal newsletter content development and production.
Creates departmental memos and other internal announcements.
Edits and proofreads material created by others.
Supports scheduling of rounding activities, town halls, manages daily communications, and assists with employee communication forums.
Works with Public Relations and Marketing staff to ensure consistency of message and brand identity and collaborates on design and production elements when necessary.
Works with designers and/or photographers to edit written content to fit layouts, schedule photos, write photo captions, and ensure consistency of message and brand identity.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, English or related field, with 5 years of writing/editing experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
Experience in health care communications preferred.
Familiarity in creating and executing detailed communications plans relating to internal communications required.
Demonstrated strengths in teamwork; ability to work productively with clients including healthcare system leadership, doctors, nurses, staff, and patients and families.
Ability to show judgment and poise in working effectively and accurately under tight deadlines, to deliver materials quickly, and to help resolve potential conflicts with sometimes shifting priorities.
