Tucson, AZ Role Accountabilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Field Work Mapping & Strategy: Lead the creation of a strategy to identify, assess, and prioritize stakeholders based on interest and influence. Active Outreach: Proactively engage stakeholders by requesting meetings, presenting at community functions, and responding to inquiries via various communications channels. Dispute Resolution: Receive, triage, and resolve stakeholder concerns and disputes by meeting with individuals to reach fair, mutually beneficial conclusions. Site Tours: Schedule and organize site tours of Copper World. Event Coordination: Manage logistics for the company’s presence at community and industry events, including sponsorship fulfillment, booth space logistics and staffing. Community Giving & Strategic Investment Program Management: Manage Copper World’s Community Giving program, including setting annual priorities, eligibility standards and application guidelines. Manage Review and Approval Process: Develop and manage a review and approval process that ensures all requests are evaluated and approvals align with the budget and business unit priorities. Impact Tracking: Develop a mechanism for recipients to report back and publish an annual Social Impact Report/Assessment as appropriate. Communications & Public Relations Presentations: Prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations and talking points for public groups. Marketing Materials: Work with the External Relations Team to create content for marketing materials, advertisements, website updates & social media in accordance with corporate guidelines. Project Milestones: Collaborate with the Communications Team to develop and disseminate project milestone updates and talking points to keep the community informed and manage expectations. Team Leadership & Operations Budgeting: Develop and manage the community relations and give annual budget and monthly reporting/forecasting. Safety & Compliance: Maintain current MSHA training and perform regular vehicle inspections. Minimum Qualifications And Education
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, a related field or a different degree with related experience. Experience: 5–10 years of experience in community relations and outreach, ideally within the mining or industrial sector. Expertise: Willingness to develop a strong understanding of Hudbay and the Copper World project. NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
