
Experience Required
Registered PGA Associate working towards Class A or Class A member preferred but not required.
Previous experience in a golf-related role or relevant education in golf management.
Private club experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Knowledge of golf equipment, rules, and etiquette.
Experience with golf instruction and the ability to teach players of different skill levels.
Essential Responsibilities
Oversee the entire golf operation in the absence of the Head Professional.
Spread hospitality, good will among all members and guests.
Provide golf instruction and conduct clinics.
Manage and oversee the development of the Junior development program.
Play with our members.
Continue to work on your game.
Assist in making sure the golf shop is maintained in a neat and clean manner on a daily basis.
Assist in creating the budget and handling budget variances under the Head Golf Professional’s direction.
Coordinate the receiving and pricing merchandise with the Professional Staff.
Manage all hard goods purchases to include: creation of Open to Buy plans & budgets, staff agreements, balls, gloves, clubs and miscellaneous.
Ensure the daily, weekly and monthly procedures are being followed.
Organize Professional Staff meetings.
Oversee Professional Staff scheduling to assure proper performance.
Possess a thorough understanding of overall golf operation.
Ensure that all golf shop supplies and all reports are maintained correctly.
Perform any and all duties requested by Owners, General Manager and Head Professional.
Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
Service and member focused attitude.
Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
Experienced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament, database & POS.
Proficiency in the operation of tournament software (Golf Genius preferred.)
Work with and assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments.
Assist in tournament planning, promotion, preparation, scoring, announcements, billing, and follow-up.
Assist with all opening / closing procedures and POS operation.
Self-motivated with desire to promote and market golf shop merchandise.
Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including: ordering procedures, receiving procedures, point of sale transactions, pricing procedures, display and sales.
Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of service is achieved.
