ESC has an exciting opportunity for a UX Researcher to drive guest-centered insights that shape digital experiences across mobile app and web platforms for a leading beauty retailer. This fully-remote, 1-year contract role will ensure product and design decisions are grounded in rigorous qualitative and quantitative research, amplifying the voice of the customer throughout the development lifecycle. You will partner cross-functionally with product managers, designers, analysts, and engineers to deliver intuitive, engaging, and data-informed experiences. This is a full-time, one-year contract role.
This Position Will Own the Following Tasks:
- Define and execute end-to-end user research using qualitative and quantitative methods including usability testing, interviews, surveys, diary studies, and concept testing
- Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights that inform product strategy, feature development, and design direction
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate guest feedback throughout the product lifecycle
- Communicate insights through compelling storytelling, journey maps, personas, and executive-ready presentations
- Present research outcomes in ways that drive alignment, clarity, and forward progress toward business and user goals
- Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent research projects while meeting deadlines and team objectives
- Contribute to development and documentation of research standards, methodologies, and best practices
- Support workshops, ideation sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives using research insights
- Maintain and optimize research tools, repositories, and processes
- Partner with design, analytics, project management, and optimization teams to ensure research alignment
- Stay current on emerging UX research methods, tools, and industry trends
- Support special initiatives related to personalization, loyalty, and in-store experience improvements
- Provide mentorship or guidance to junior researchers or interns as needed
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design, Anthropology, or a related field
- 5+ years of UX research experience within digital product environments (e-commerce or mobile apps preferred)
- Proven ability to independently scope, lead, and deliver end-to-end research initiatives
- Strong expertise in usability testing, qualitative interviewing, survey design, and data synthesis
- Experience with research and collaboration tools such as Figma, UserTesting, Dscout, Dovetail, Marvin, or similar platforms
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Familiarity with Agile product development and UX design processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong curiosity about customer behavior and passion for delivering user-centered experiences
