Live a summer of adventure and memories! Working on our train traveling thru the Alaskan wilderness, and assisting the line cooks is truly a remarkable summer job. Between meal services or during downtimes enjoy the amazing scenery on our open-air platforms between the rail cars! Our dishwashers play an integral role in helping out all teammates on the train and ensuring the guests on board have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a variety of cleaning, storage, and kitchen tasks.
Routinely washes and stores all items related to cooking and serving our guests on board the train.
Clean and sanitize the kitchen area and all service ware.
Assist with food preparation and presentation.
Responsible for moving product between rail car kitchens as needed.
Maintain a high level of sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen and dish area throughout the entire shift by following company and state sanitation guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card.
Ability to lift 50 lbs./23 kg, work around hot kitchen equipment safely, and stand/walk for long periods of time.
Ability to work safely in a commercial kitchen environment.
Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day
