Overview Seeking experienced NYC Tour Guides for our client—a major new attraction opening in Times Square this fall! As a Tour Guide, you will introduce visitors to the attraction’s many offerings and share information on the history of the building and neighborhood.
Full and Part Time opportunities available!
Responsibilities
Greet all guests as they enter assigned areas
Ensure safety of all guests while waiting on tour or in assigned areas
Provide facts and historical information about the city and visible landmarks
Point out features of interest, speaking at length with regard, and answering related questions
Conduct in-depth, specialized talks and walking tours
Provide the highest level of customer service for the guest, resolving issues, and referring to any issue that is unable to be satisfactorily addressed to a supervisor-/leader-on-duty
Create and prepare specified tour material as needed
Perform and present information in a concise, legible manner to guests – speaking clearly and loudly with a commanding presence is a must
Work non-traditional hours, nights, weekends, and holidays – as necessary
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training preferred
An NYC Sightseeing License is preferred but not required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Fluency in a language other than English is a major plus
Minimum of 3 years Tour Guide or related experience, preferably in an attraction, entertainment, or hospitality environment
Strong existing knowledge of NYC history and landmarks
Must be naturally personable, friendly, and welcoming and possess the highest level of demonstrated professionalism and customer service
A fast learner who can absorb historical facts and data quickly
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (i.e., Excel; PowerPoint; Word) – interest and proficiency in interactive presentations and social media a plus
Part time availability – At least 15 hours per week, mainly on afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and holidays
Full time availability – 40 hours per week over 5 shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
