Submits price requests with zero errors.\nInvestigates and resolves customer deductions; identifies and corrects contributing factors to avoid future deductions.\nReports inventory shortages or issues to the Regional Supply Chain Manager and Inventory Planner. Timely assignment of available inventory to comply with Client transportation/warehousing lead times and meet with customers delivery requirements. May include discussions with management and/or sales to review changes in customers demands or deviations of requirements.Registers customer complaints in the April Star database and provides corrective actions for problems encountered in shipping, billing and inventory. The Parts Counterperson sells parts to all available customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.\nEssential duties include:\nAssist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.\nPull purchased parts from stock.\nIf the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer or tech.\nAnswer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.\nAssist outside sales reps with their orders.\nSet up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.\nVerify WILL CALL and BACKORDER files weekly and return to vendors, or stock those items not required.\nSolicit assigned accounts by phone.\nAssist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.\nNotify service desk and the customer that ordered parts have been received.\nEnsure that before parts can be charged out, the technician presents a repair order.\nDisplay seasonal parts and accessories in an attractive manner.\nKeep parts catalogs and price books current.\nKeep all bins, aisles and storage areas clean, neat and clearly labeled.\nBe friendly, professional and efficient when working with customers and co-workers.\nProvide the same high level of service to the other dealership departments as is given to other customers.\nIssue credit slips for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. Exceptions must be approved by the Parts Manager or Office Manager.\nWhen taking tax-exempt sales other than to a charge or cash account, ensure that the customer's full name, address, fed ID # and signature is obtained.\nPresent the customer with the white copy of the invoice after removing the tear strip.\nKeep front and rear counters clean and uncluttered.\nReplenish assigned inventory daily.\nAdvise Parts Manager when areas of the department are not in satisfactory condition.\nCarefully check invoices against orders and stock shelves promptly.\nHelp maintain parts storage in orderly condition.\nKeep counters and parts area free of litter.\nAssist in keeping parts catalogs updated.\nInform technicians and customers when special order parts arrive.\nKeep current on new products and product updates.\nParticipate in all training programs that are made available.\nIf customers pay by invoice, obtain the following information: form of payment (if by check, include the check number). Amount of payment, date and any change given and received by (your name).\nKeep computer terminals clean.\nQualifications include:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nAbility to read and comprehend instructions and information.\nOne year of experience in an automotive parts dept.\nOne year of sales experience.\nProfessional personal appearance.\nAbility to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.\nWill be required to wear a dealership uniform at all times.
