
Jewish Chaplain Opportunity
Amherst College is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive community for all students, staff, and faculty. We are seeking a Jewish Chaplain to join our team in providing spiritual support and guidance to our diverse student population.
The successful candidate will have the ability to create an engaging and vibrant Jewish community on campus, effectively collaborating with students across various expressions of Jewish identity. They will serve as an advisor to Hillel, Amherst for Israel, Jews for Peace, and other student groups related to Jewish life. Additionally, they will contribute to interfaith programs sponsored by the Center for Religious & Spiritual Life.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and be able to facilitate Jewish study groups, prayer services, and holiday celebrations. They should also be comfortable working independently while appreciating supervision and teamwork.
This is a part-time position that requires flexibility in scheduling hours during weekdays with some evening commitments on Fridays due Shabbat dinners attendance required at least half times per month along occasional select evenings weekend service event participation based availability subject change}
